A project plan is what a manager, a consultant or an agency hands over when someone asks how the work will run: what is being delivered, by when, by whom, and what could go wrong. The template packs sold online compete on count — two hundred files for a few dollars — and a folder of two hundred blank files is not a plan. This is one connected document instead: enter your phases and their durations, and the schedule, the milestone dates and the Excel model are all calculated from them.

Questions founders ask
- How many phases and risks can I have?
- Up to six phases and five risks. That is a deliberate limit: a plan with twenty phases is a schedule nobody reads, and the phases that matter are the ones you would actually report against.
- Does it handle dependencies between phases?
- Phases run in the order you list them, each starting the day after the previous one ends. It does not model parallel work, float or a critical path — if your project needs that, it needs project management software rather than a document. The plan says so in its own disclaimer.
- Does it account for holidays and weekends?
- No. Durations are continuous calendar weeks, which is what the disclaimer states. Add slack to a phase's duration if a public holiday falls inside it.
- How are the risks ranked?
- Likelihood times impact, each rated low, medium or high, which gives a score from 1 to 9. Six or more is high severity. The order is arithmetic — nothing written in the document can move a risk up or down the list.
- Is it free?
- Writing the plan and reading it in full on screen is free and needs no card. Downloading the Word, PDF and Excel files is a one-time payment, and the files are yours permanently.
