StartX is a nonprofit accelerator and founder community for Stanford-affiliated teams: students, alumni, faculty, staff or researchers. It takes no equity and charges nothing — funding comes from donors and partners — and acceptance means lifetime membership in a network of thousands of Stanford founders, plus a 12-week program with medical and hardware tracks alongside software.
Because there's no equity cost, StartX stacks freely with other accelerators and rounds. The constraint is simply eligibility: no Stanford affiliation on the founding team, no application.
The bar you need to clear before the application is worth sending.
At least one founder with Stanford affiliation — the non-negotiable gate.
Serious full-time ventures (it's a founder community, not a class project).
All sectors including medtech and hardware — dedicated tracks exist.
Founders who'll engage the community; the network is the product.
